In 2017, Ghadeir Alwahidi was the first person chosen by Purity Gas co-founders Alan Hopkins and Chris Styles to be part of their organization’s startup story. Fast forward to 2025, and it’s Ghadeir who played a central role in helping Purity Gas achieve ISO 9001:2015 certification, the internationally recognized standard for quality management. 

In this interview, we hear from Ghadeir about her connection to the company’s ISO 9001:2015 certification journey.

What motivated Purity Gas to pursue ISO 9001:2015 certification?

Achieving ISO 9001:2015 certification is particularly important for us because we serve industry-leading manufacturers who expect the highest standards for quality and service.

In the early days of Purity Gas, we focused on building a foundation – delivering reliable services, establishing trust with clients, and creating a name for ourselves.

As we grew, it became essential to refine and optimize how we operate. A focus on process improvements and quality assurance became a core part of our identity. Implementing standardized, repeatable processes not only improved efficiency but also ensured consistency and reliability in delivering for customers.

Another benefit of ISO 9001:2015 certification is having a solid framework for continuous improvement. As we worked toward certification, we formalized our commitment to always getting better for our customers

What role did you play in helping the company achieve this certification?

From the start, I played an integral role in Purity Gas’s journey to achieving ISO 9001:2015 certification. I worked closely with management to assess and refine processes, ensuring they met the rigorous standards required. A key part of my role involved documenting workflows, establishing clear procedures, and implementing systems to drive efficiency and consistency across the organization.

How did the team come together to meet the ISO 9001:2015 standards?

Everyone played a role, and we collaborated across departments, leveraging each person’s expertise to address challenges and ensure nothing was overlooked.

The process required open communication, adaptability, and a willingness to embrace change. Each team member took ownership of their responsibilities, contributing to a collective effort that strengthened our operations and culture. Teamwork and mutual support definitely helped Purity Gas achieve certification.

What does achieving ISO 9001:2015 certification mean to you personally?

Working toward this certification has deepened my personal appreciation for how structure and process drive business success. It has been a rewarding experience, and I’m excited about what’s next for Purity Gas as we continue to grow and improve.
Meeting internationally recognized standards is incredibly meaningful to me, especially because I have been part of Purity Gas’s development from the start. It represents the hard work, dedication, and commitment to quality that we’ve all put into building the company.

It’s not just about being able to say you have a quality management system; it’s about fostering a culture of excellence, which I’m proud to have contributed to since day one.
